50th Anniversary Feature: Robin Hood

It's the story of what really happened in Sherwood Forest." -Alan a Dale And that was Disney's way to present its adaptation of the legendary outlaw who robbed the rich to feed the poor. By having its well-known characters as anthros, this movie had tremendous appeal to audiences which carried on well 50 years later. England has fallen into the rule of King Richard's greedy and selfish brother Prince John. While this tyrant is ultimately one of Disney's most laughable villains, he has parasitically taxed the townspeople just for the satisfaction of having all the money that he could get his dirty paws on. And if he wasn't at the front of tax collection, it was the Sheriff of Nottingham who was stealing all that money. Robin Hood and Little John were the heroes that were brave and able-bodied enough to counteract the corrupt
